Reports

Find out what
the year came to

Website sales, marketplace sales and in-person sales land in one history. The totals are in one place instead of five. Filter it, chart it, drill into any bar, and take the whole thing out to a spreadsheet.

One history

Every sale in the same place

A sale on AbeBooks, a sale on your own site and a sale made in person at a fair all post to the same sales history, against the same book record. Revenue, margin, best sellers and channel-by-channel performance come off that one set of numbers.

Marketplace sales stay hidden until you switch them on. It is your decision when to bring another channel into your figures, and nothing changes in your reports until you make it.

What you are holding

Inventory value, and what it was last New Year

The inventory reports tell you what is on the shelf and what it is worth, at retail and at cost, broken down by category. The number your accountant asks for is on a page rather than in a spreadsheet you rebuild every January.

Close a year and BookRouter takes a snapshot and locks it. Run the same report in three years' time and it returns the same figure, because a closed year does not get recalculated against today's prices.

Three things to know

What the reports cover

Three areas, each with a dashboard you can drill out of and a detail view you can filter, sort and export.

Sales

By channel, by period, by book

Revenue and margin over any date range, split by channel, with rankings for best sellers and best customers. Click a bar or a slice and you land in the detail list already filtered to it.

Inventory

Value, age and acquisitions

What you hold, what it cost, what it lists at, and how long it has been there. Year-end snapshots for the accountant, and acquisition figures for working out what a buying trip returned.

Customers

Who buys, and what they came for

Registrations over time, who is buying and how much they have spent, mailing list sizes, and the website activity behind it all: inquiries, carts, want lists and wishlists.

Getting it out

Every report leaves as a spreadsheet

Any filtered view exports in full to CSV or Excel, not just the page you happen to be looking at. Print versions are built in too, so a report handed to an accountant or an insurer looks like a document rather than a screenshot.

Reports read from your own data and your data stays yours. Everything here can leave in an open format whenever you want it, whether or not you are still a customer.

Where the numbers come from

Nothing here is typed in twice

Every figure on these pages is a by-product of work you already did. Cataloging a book, routing it, taking the order and shipping it are what fill the reports. There is no separate bookkeeping step.

Marketplace sales
Downloaded from the venue when the order arrives.
Website sales
Posted from your own checkout as they happen.
In person and invoices
Taken in person or billed, into the same history.
